Board Rule 11.07
requires payment of outstanding fines or fees before renewing.
Most state registered contractors (starting I-), locally licensed county contractors (starting C-), and locally licensed journeymen (starting J-)
whose license is currently Active can renew online.
If you missed renewing last year, you may be able to renew online. Exceptions include:
- state licenses issued by the Electrical Contractors Licensing Board, and
- locally licensed county contractors (C-) who did not renew for the period ending September 30, 2022.
- who must register by mail, use our outdoor drop box available 24/7, or visit us in person.
- C- contractors not registered with the State who did not renew last year must provide proof of continuing education.
If you are a locally licensed specialty contractor, your license may be affected by HB735.

Your renewal fee has been prorated to expire June 30, 2023.
If you cannot renew online, calculate your fees and find next steps.
Contractors who do not renew before the deadline will incur a late fee.
